Fab for Less: Building Blocks for Affordable Living, was a home and neighborhood revitalization tour sponsored by Southeast Neighborhood Development (SEND), a community development corporation focusing on the near-southeast side of Indianapolis.  The event rehabilitated two homes, furnished by local interior designers on a shoestring budget.  It also worked with the City of Indianapolis to install new curbs and sidewalks and resurface the street, and with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to improve the esplanade along two blocks of South New Jersey Street.  SEND also provided financial and volunteer assistance to residents along the block to improve the facades of their homes.  CAP:IC provided posterboards, based on actual homes, to illustrate “10 Simple Ways to Improve Your Home” and help residents understand improvements they could make to contribute to the transformation of their block.
